Land of Primitivo di Manduria, at the gate of the wild Salento, in Puglia.
This land is known for its long summers, its heat swirling all through the vines, and for the cool night breezes that blow through the countryside.
Farmers’ hands made red by the soil, burnt by the zenith sun; fiery sunsets that repeat an ancient miracle during harvest.
The red moon shedding light upon the nights of work and coloring the vineyards.
NOTTE ROSSA pays homage to all of this, telling the story of a unique terroir and the labor of a community.
NOTTE ROSSA vineyards are located in the most suited fields of Salento peninsula, several hectares planted with indigenous grapes destined to the production of an assorted variety of great wines.
The white grapes are farmed on the hills of the northern province of Taranto – north Salento area – at approximately 150 meters above sea level and on clayey soils. They show great potential and make surprisingly modern wines for fragrance, refinement and balance.
For the iconic reds such as Primitivo and Negroamaro, the choice falls on plots of land located further south: areas of red soil, of limestone and sand, where the old bush vines have been living for decades with the shrubs of the Mediterranean Maquis, caressed by the sapid breezes blowing from the Ionian Sea. A distinct, natural minerality that gives structure to the impressive meditation reds and freshness to the delicate and versatile rosés, a seductive declination of the great native red grapes.
